Just Because...

 

Today marks the beginning of our Canadian Thanksgiving, so I thought it was only fitting that A, I scream joy because it is a long weekend and I need some rest and then B, make mention of all the things I am thankful for.

Spend time with your families this weekend, relax and most of all just be thankful for what little or lots you have in your life.

Summer Fun...

Well the first TRUE long weekend of the year has now come and gone.  May two-four, Victoria Day whatever you want to call it, I will say SUMMER IS HERE!!!  I now have a tan/burn to prove it! hahaha  As much as I did a LOT this weekend I feel like I did nothing at all.  Isn't that the sign of a good weekend though?  Spent it with friends, laughed for hours on end, relaxed in the shade and read a few magazines, and got back into Rowing, something I haven't done in years.

I cannot wait until the next long weekend, but I will just take another weekend of sunshine and good friends any time soon.

It was an idealic morning.

Finally being able to sit on my veranda and read the BACKLOG of magazines I have to read.  So I started with a December issue.  They were right on many trends this issue predicted.  Dark lips, lots of chiffon and prints, prints prints!

While sitting with a few friends on Sunday at my house this was the above view from my lawn chair.  I mean really!  Look at that, ahhhhh, long weekends!

Just Because...

Summer Fun...

This past weekend rained, and poured and just when you thought you were drowning, it rained some more.

I spent the weekend up at the cottage with a few of my girlfriends.  We spent the weekend eating chips, reading five gossip magazines, and watching the entire season six of Sex and the City.  We laughed, talked men, chilled, and above all got in some major girl time battery charging.

This is pretty much what I saw all weekend.

Onto the other note that filled my weekend curiosity.  The Kim Kardashian wedding.  No matter what your personal views of her and her brand and her family, there is no denying that she is beautiful.  When it comes to celebrity weddings, red carpets, I can never wait to see what the ladies would wear.  This wedding was no exception.  I kept hitting refresh on my sisters computer trying to see if some sort of website even got an aerial shot of her in the Vera Wang dress she was going to wear.  Now of course most of the pictures I cannot right click on and save, lol, but this one I got from {E!Online}.

I believe she went for the Armenian princess look (that's her background) and WOW, that headband is gorgeous.  Her make up is simple, not too much of a smokey of an eye, which is what she normally does.  And I think her choice not to do large earrings or a necklace was a fantastic decision since she had the headband on.

Rumour has it she changed two more times thru out the night.  {People Magazine} has the rights of the photos and is said to hit newsstands on Friday.  For more of the wedding pics click {here}.  And the 

E! two day wedding special will air Oct 9th and 10th.  I know I will be TiVo’ing it.  I mean, anyone who has that much money to spend on their wedding, I want to see what it can buy, lol.

This past weekend I got last lost in some major relaxing, tanning and good friend’s laughter.  Long weekends were made just for the way I feel this morning, brand new and ready to tackle a new week!

Hope you all had a good long weekend as well.  Now to get back into the swing of the blog and all things fun and fashion!

Inspiration ...

So this long weekend has kicked my butt!  I got so relaxed, getting back into the swing of the blog has been harder then I thought.  Made a mental note to have some blogs prepared before a long weekend so the comeback is easier next time!

This week I am dedicating the blog to my style icons.  Some might surprise you, some you might never even have heard of.  I think by me showcasing these ladies you will get a better sense of where I draw my fashion inspiration from and even inspire you perhaps!

Inspiration numero uno; Charlize Theron.  She is an actress, an activist and an overall guy’s girl.  Just my kinda lady!  Although her red carpet looks are always stunning, she wears colours that always compliment her skin tone, especially jewel tones.  For me, since my red carpet looks are limited, it’s her casual day to day style that I covet.  My love of all things blazers came from her.  I once saw a pic and was sold that I could rock it too.  My friends know I sport a blazer every where and I think if she can do it so can I!
