Just Because...

FimC readers… I have started and stopped this blog post more times then I will admit.
How much do I share?  I hope I don’t over share, but I want to be honest? I never really ‘talk’ about myself, so how will this go over?  All things that I have thought of.

Last week this little ‘ol blog turned two!!

Yes my blog is the same age as Posh Spices’ daughter and Kate Middleton and Prince William and I share a 2nd anniversary date.  Lol How lucky am I..lol

I started this blog as a creative outlet as most of you know; A place to share my love of clothes, fashion and all other stuff that keeps this brunette haired head turning.  I have shared events of my life; even my friends have come on the roller coaster with me and let me share their lives.  And I am beyond thankful and mystified that hundreds of you check back daily to see what I have to say.  So amazed and flattered by it.

But as this blog now reaches the ‘terrible’ two’s I am struggln’ on where to take it.  I have never shy’ed from the fact that this blog never had any direction. Lol  I mean I had no goals for it, I never wanted to get a book deal or a career in styling from it, and neither have come.  I realize my posts are becoming less frequent and of course the lacks of ‘what I wore’ posts are almost non-existent.  It has not been from a lack of WANTING to post but rather time to post.  As the bloggers reading this know, blogging is a full-time job.  Editorial calendars, brain storming, searching, sourcing are all of the things that go to keep this and all blogs running.  And well, I am lacking time.

Yes it is Summer and that comes with its own social calendar, (you would be amazed what I pack into a week..lol)  I have found a passion in Crossfit and regained that feeling of training like athlete again (I was a Figure Skater for 18 years).  I bought a house and well, it does not decorate, style, clean and maintain itself.

I am simply short on days and time and well, motivation.  No longer in desperate need of a creative outlet, this blog will continue for sure, however at a slower pace.  I say this now, and heck in five months I could be blogging twice a day!  Who knows what lays ahead for me or anyone us, but at this ‘terrible two’ juncture I need this little break.

I need to soak up the sun more, workout more, clean more, walk the dog more and blog less.  I have to not stress about giving you readers fresh content every day.  Cause trust me, I do!  The guilt that you check in everyday and nothing is there or that what I post won’t make the 2 mins you read my blog make you go hmmm fill me with disappointment.

I hope that this slower paced blogging will not deter you from checking in to find out what I have to say or what is happening in the world of fashion, what I am griping about, and of course my red carpet reviews.  And with 100% those will remain! Hahaha

My blog is going thru some growing pains and that is ok.  As I am sure MOST parents would agree, the terrible two’s end and a bright new future is just around the corner.

As I said earlier I struggled to write this, and I thank those who have made it to the end of this open letter.  I thank those that have been loyal with me over these two years.  I am BEYOND thankful for the amazing new friends via twitter and the blog that I can now lean on, confide in and laugh with and hang out with.

This blog has been my vessel of fun for two years and as the ship docks for a bit she will see the sea again.

Thanks for always having my back in this ‘closet’.

Now with all that said, continue to be inspired and be inspiring!

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRIENDS IN MY CLOSET!!!!!

Lots of love

Styling...

30th Birthday Outfit...

30th Birthday Outfit...

For my 30th birthday out with friends (not the surprise party) I had this outfit planned for a solid month ahead of schedule!  It all started with this {ASOS} skirt I wore on NYE and then it all came together when I spotted these {ZARA} heels.  I was like, YES, this is what I am going to ring in a new decade looking like!  Paired with a chambray shirt to tame it down and some gold rings stacked on knuckles, pinkies everywhere!

Sometimes a perfect outfit can make you feel amazing and this did just that!  I don't have a picture of the outfit on... boo.. but as soon as I get to doing some WIW posts I will show you what this looked like on for sure.

For now that sequin skirt goes back into the closet, awaiting another special occasion for when I can take it out for a spin.  Oh sequins, they are always amazing.

30 to THIRTY...

It is here... today I turn THIRTY!!!  woooooo hooooo!
I welcome this new decade with open arms!!

I look forward to celebrating with friends this coming weekend (again, for those who came to the surprise party)!  Fun times will ensue that I know!

For this milestone thought it would be great to share some 30th quotes from some folks, who of course are so much wiser than I!

Hervey Allen
The only time you really live fully is from thirty to sixty. The young are slaves to dreams; the old servants of regrets. Only the middle-aged have all their five senses in the keeping of their wits.

Georges Clemenceau
Everything I know I learned after I was thirty.

Benjamin Franklin
At twenty years of age, the will reigns; at thirty, the wit; and at forty, the judgement.

F. Scott Fitzgerald.
Thirty—the promise of a decade of loneliness, a thinning list of single men to know, a thinning briefcase of enthusiasm, thinning hair.

Robert Frost
Time and Tide wait for no man, but time always stands still for a woman of thirty.

Muhammad Ali
The man who views the world at fifty the same as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life.

Blair Sabol
When you turn thirty, a whole new thing happens: you see yourself acting like your parents.

Fanny Fink
I'm turning thirty this year.  And you know that saying, a woman over thirty is more likely to get by an A bomb than find a man.

Bette Midler

After 30, a body has a mind of its own.

Bonnidette Lantz
At 30 you finally start to catch up to those dreams you’ve been chasing for the last 10 plus years.

Andy Rooney
A woman over 30 will never wake you in the middle of the night to ask, "What are you thinking?". She doesn't care what you think.".....

Thanks for sharing in this countdown with me!  Back to regularly scheduled fashion next week!

30 to THIRTY...

Today marks day 4.. however on Saturday night (day 6) my friends and family threw me a SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY!!  I did not see it coming a MILE away!  I was overwhelmed with the love in the room from those that are my dearest.  My sister worked tirelessly to make the event perfect, and boy was it!  My friends had known about this party for well over a month and I was shocked not one of them ever made a slip up!  Thank you to all who came out and to those that sent their regrets, it was a fabulous night and I LOVE YOU ALL!

Above is my birthday cake that my sister {Miss Cupcake} made!!  Confetti cake is my favorite and let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS!

GRIPE...

Today begins the last year of my twenties. WOW, where has the time gone.  A new year calls for a new attitude, a fresh start, and going out of my 29th year with a bang!  I look so forward to what this coming year has in store and in the meantime, bring on the cake! lol

 Now onto the WEDNESDAY GRIPE!!!!

Recently I tried a pair of liquid leggings, well let me tell you, I consider my legs one of my better assets but in liquid leggings they became my worst! lol  It was like wrapping tree trunks in garbage bags!  So back to the store they went.  So imagine my surprise when {Cindy} found these gold lame liquid leggings!  I thought, my god, GRIPE!!  Liquid leggings are hard to pull of people, and those that do, thumbs up.  However in gold, hold yourself back from this purchase.  Perhaps a bachelorette weekend in Atlantic City these would fly.  UGH, just cause they sell it people doesn't mean you should buy it!

HAPPY GRIPE!

WIW...

My dad's birthday was the other night and like always we go to the KEG; it's one of his favourite restaurants.  Happy Birthday Dad!

I am still getting used to taking BLOG photos of the clothes I wear to events, but each time I get a little bit more comfortable.  I am also trying to work with 'modeling' poses work best for me and my clothes.  As almost always, I was wearing a blazer (I am obsessed with them) and as almost always, in lovely shades of black lol.  I think if you know what works for 'you' then you always look at your best, it's no-fail clothing!  And these items are that for me.

 What I Wore: Jacket/Denim- Torrid, Shirt/Shoes- Forever21, Bag- ALDO
