WIW...

Well it finally happened.  This curvy blogger got an item that was coveted by all fashionistas but never available in larger sizes until {ASOS} did it.  God bless ASOS!  I got my army green fall coat with leather sleeves!!!  This was the UNTHINKABLE item I totally wanted but never thought I would get. 

The spikes were an addition I could do with our without, but since it came WITH I decided this is my bad ass coat!!!  Since this coat arrived I have been wearing it everywhere, proving what I have been saying for years; if you make great clothes for curvy girls, we WILL spend the money and wear it ALL the time!

Inspiration...

I am cold.  My hands.  My feet.  And it is only +4.  What a long season it will be.  I am done complaining until at least 1x foot of snow is on the ground!  Promise.

Something I do not own are white jeans.  I am notroiously clumsy and I KNOW I would totally spill on them.  Second, I do no think covering my tree trunk legs in white will be flattering at all...lol  I also don't believe in the rule, no white after labour day... it's a colour, wear it when you want.

So, imagine my surprise while doing my daily ready a week or so back on {Eat.Sleep.Denim} when their blogger Taylor, was not only sporting white post holiday but in the cold weather!  Shocked, I immediately I knew I had to share this.  I might be stylish but I NEVER would have thought about pairing white denim in these colder months with a great knit.  I am not that smart.  This is one of the reasons I love fashion blogs, you can see soemthing that you never would have done and see what it looks like before you try it.

Since I will not be purcahsing white denim anytime soon, I encourage anyone who has those white jeans put away for 'the winter' that you take them out of their container or from the back of the closet and totally try this look before you need to wear you double lined feather down puffer jacket!

Although this list seems kind of odd because right now here, I feel like fall was completly skipped over and it feels like winter already!  However I cannot over look this list becasue it does include some of my favorite things.  And even when Fall ends, some will roll into winter and keep a smile on my face ie. cinnamon scented candles.

So as this season 'falls' behind us quicker than we would like, don't forget to take a deep breath and enjoy all the little things around you that only seem to happen once a year!

Before we know it will be the holiday season and then we will be wishing for warmer weather.

Well my apologies for a lack of post these past two days.  Monday was a holiday and I cleaned the house and relaxed plenty.  And yesterday my 9-5 moved into their new office building and well, there was no time to post or promote! hahaha

 

So I thought for today let's talk FALL ESSENTIALS!  I was reminded of these great additions while shopping with my mum and sis this past weekend.  These few items are in full affect in every store, in prices high to low.  Each season it is always nice to update the closet with some trendy and fashion forward pieces and this season these are those.

Be daring with the structured hat with a great pop of colour for drab days, try OXBLOOD/Bordeaux as a great addition to a neutral outfit.  And have fun with the animal of choice in your top!

 

And it is FALL, so make sure whatever you wear you are comfortable, it is all about comfort in fall and cozy days in great clothes.

Since the colder weather is in full swing I thought I would highlight some key trends that are showing up on store racks in the coat departments.  As a Canadian a great jacket is as important as a great pair of boots; they need to be stylish since we are in them for six months on average.  Personally I have many coats that way I am never too tired of just one.  Find the right style and best length for you.  Never just pick what is on trend if it doesn't suit your body shape and personality.  A great coat can mean a big money investment, so take the time to find just the right one that fits!

Oh fall how I love you!  I love the simplistic idea of leather and layering.  This past Saturday I was honored to go wedding dress shopping with one of my best friends (side note, she got the most beautiful dress) and the weather was sunny one minute cloudy the next.  So I decided to wear a lighter top and then go heavy on the bottom with this falls must have shoe the Chelsea boot.
The outfit was comfortable and light the perfect combo for hours of shopping!

ps... I am so infatuated with this new H&M bag.  I am toeing it around with pride and it will for sure be my everyday bag for Fall/Winter.

Just Because...

Well not all of my festive-fall furnishings went up this week as I had hoped.  Being too lazy-dazy to clean the house, I didn’t want to display much without a good fall-cleaning first.  However this adorable door handle has been hung!  Welcome to my cottage in the city and welcome to fall!

I have some exciting news about what is happening this week and tonite is the first evening!  I will share it all with you tomorrow!  So look forward to that post.

Finds...

I have ALWAYS wanted to sport a cape during the crisp fall nights.  This one from {ASOS} looks perfect;   Neutral grey with a little added fun with the plaid shoulders.  If it was not for the price tag, $180 for the {left}, 

and $145 for the {right} (on a shopping budget this month) I would be ordering this ASAP.   

Who else wants a cape for this fall?

This picture taken from {Mr. Newton} is a great seasonal transition outfit.  The white still makes it summery while the caramel colours and blazer take this look into fall.  Thumbs up for this outfit!

Fall... Old Navy Style

Today I am having a bad day.  Neighborhood punks stole all my lawn’s solar lights, 12 to be exact last night.  So while I sit and boil over this loss I thought I would cheer myself up with looking towards my favorite season.  FALL.

Now this entire look is all clothes from {Old Navy}.  There clothes to me are always super affordable and accessible and they always blend seamlessly into any wardrobe.

The look below I think would rock with a high pony, hence the picture.  But I also think a good old baseball cap would really add a quirky fun tie to the clothes as well.  Loving the striped cropped sweater too; being cropped makes it feel light and not as heavy as a regular sweater.  Start dreaming of fall now everyone its closer then you think.

Interesting...

My favorite magazine is VOGUE and my favorite issue is the fall issue.  It is the biggest and most coveted issue of the magazine.  Adage.com just released that the issue will contain, 584 ad pages, a 9.3% gain over its September 2010 issue.

Largest issue to date was the one pictured below.  It had 727 pages of ads.  Ads of today's era are like art, and I love treating each page as such.  

However I always do feel bad for my postman.
