Inspiration...

Pairing unusual items normally means big risk.  You can either nail it or fall on your face.  So why take these fashion risks?!  When I saw this UNUSUAL paring of a denim vest with a full midi skirt I was like WOW, that risk really paid off!  A fantastic pairing these two make.  Seeing this picture on Pinterest yesterday reminded me to take risks with my fashion and not be afraid to fail.  (Says the girl who planned to wear a white and black outfit tomorrow hahaha baby steps)

In the mean time let us all step outside our comfort zones and pair up the unusual and unexpected.  Heck, we dress for ourselves anyways right!

Summer Errands... 

Keeping with yesterday's theme of outfits that SCREAM summer, I saw a lovely lady wearing this outfit at the beach over the weekend and knew I had to share it will you all.  Lace shorts are in full force this year and pairing with a simple black tube top is a perfect balance.  Party on the bottom and business on top!..lol  Adding a great boho bag (FEED bags are for a great cause) and some t-strap sandals and you are set.

I love the simplicity of this look, fresh and comfy; perfect for all summer patios and errands!

Inspiration...

Ahhhh the long weekend is over.  Let us all let out a huge sigh.  Although my weekend was packed with moving stuff into the new cottage the sun was out and the hope for Summer fun times was in full force!

I want to be inspired by Reese's look above for the Summer to come.  Classic and preppy is the way to go!  A crisp button down and white shorts is a no fail go to look for EVERYONE.

So while this is a short week, we all drink our coffee and do our laundry, let's not forget, just four days and we can all hit patios again and relax!

30 to THIRTY...

Happy Monday Everyone.. or is it Happy? lol

I am officially out of the 20's of the countdown and onto the teens!  Today is day 17 on route to THIRTY.  And frankly, I have nothing to say today!..lol  

So I will leave you with some street fashion inspiration.  Cause at the age of 17 and on Monday everyone can  use a little inspiration!

Just Because...

Time to fess up.
Time to admit why this blog clearly has not been a riveting part of your everyday life.
Time to express why.

I have been putting off writing and sharing this memo/note/letter/manifesto to you my readers for some time now.  I begin to write it and it always just comes up short.  Then yesterday my horoscope said this:

Welcome to a day of communication. Self-expression is easier than usual. The words to express your feelings are right there at the surface. 

Then I thought I have to say it out loud and it will be now. 


I am uninspired.


Nothing major has happened in my life.  I have no lost anything in life.  Just that this creative little engine known as my brain has had a stall in its daily routine.  I have started and stopped lots of posts, I have been storing up ideas when the come to me, but the execution as fallen short.

I would like to extend a thank you to all of you who have come to the blog daily, hundreds of you, looking for my content and nothing has been there.  An even bigger thank you to those who check back everyday hoping for a tidbit, and nothing.  I write this blog as a creative outlet for myself.  A place I put my passions, my wants, and most of all I try to inspire myself and all of you.  So when you are uninspired I feel as if I have let you all down.

As this blog was an outlet I never wanted it to become a chore.  It HAS NOT become a chore, trust me, I just always want content that I feel is worth sharing and lately everything just doesn’t meet my standards.

As I hope to get back to blogging on the regular very soon, I feel I am on the cusp of being inspired again.  I appreciate your patience.  I do hope you keep checking back in for new and exciting posts, outfit ideas, and as always my red carpet reviews.  With the Oscars coming up (my fav day of the year) I can most definitely say that post WILL be happening.lol

Thank you for allowing me to feel comfortable in admitting my flaw.  And I do hope I feel inspired sooner rather than later because I love having all you ‘Friends in my Closet.’

Spotlight...

As the week of mundane dressing is happening for me here I am always inspired by the daily post of {Suburban Faux-Pas} a blog by the stunning Krystin Lee.

I was introduced to Krystin's blog through the way all of us find blogs, RANDOMLY! lol
I then got to meet Krystin at a mall one day odd enough, when this gal (me) walked up to her and was like, 'umm excuse me are you from Suburban Faux-Pas' suffice to say my embarrassment was minimal and well we have become fast social media buddies and she is super sweet in person. #stalkermuchCarlie is what you are thinking..lol  I know.. But I have zero shame and am always looking to connect with other Canadian Bloggers; especially the ones with style I adore.

Krystin's posts this past week on her dressing in this Winter Wonderland have been refreshing and welcoming and as always inspiring!  Since I cannot inspire you FimC readers with outfit posts this week lets let Krystin do it for us!
