Just Because...

Well not all of my festive-fall furnishings went up this week as I had hoped.  Being too lazy-dazy to clean the house, I didn’t want to display much without a good fall-cleaning first.  However this adorable door handle has been hung!  Welcome to my cottage in the city and welcome to fall!

I have some exciting news about what is happening this week and tonite is the first evening!  I will share it all with you tomorrow!  So look forward to that post.

Inspiration...

Here are some pictures that I am oo-ing and aww-ing over from New York Fashion Week from one of my favorite street fashion photographers, NAM at {STREETFSN}.
Enjoy, and be inspired.

Fall Fun...

This past Saturday I spent a gorgeous September day out in the sun at Springfield golf course here in town.  My family and I are apart of CHERYL’S HOPE, a charity golf tournament in memory of one of my mothers dearest friends, Cheryl Pollard.  All funds raised go Princess Margaret Hospital to raise money for endometriosis cancer, which after a 7 year battle took Cheryl’s life.

A sold out event this year we cannot wait to hear what the final amount raised will be; last year we rose over $10,000 and I think we beat it this year.  Big thanks go out to all those who volunteered, raised funds, participated or donated prizes or money, the event was a great success only made by those who help.

Spending a great day in the sun, having fun, and for a good cause, I couldn’t think of a better way to usher in the fall season.

Below are pics of me on the course, I wore Old Navy khaki shorts, an Old Navy linen ruffle shirt (same as the one I wore {here}, looks totally different), and my Reebok golf cleats.  The last pic is of my sister and me just chilling on the course waiting to tee off!

Hope you all had a great weekend filled with sun, fun and laughter too!

Finds...

What better way to celebrate the arrival of a Friday then to have a new ice cream flavor!  “Schweddy Balls” the newest flavor {Ben and Jerry’s} is based on my favorite SNL skit and I am sure yours too from the holiday season starring Alec Baldwin!  The official website says this:

“Available in both pints and Scoop Shops, this flavor is Fair Trade vanilla ice cream with a hint of rum and is loaded with fudge covered rum and milk chocolate malt balls.”

Sounds delicious!!  I hope it’s available in Canada!

Here is the skit to make you laugh!

This weekend I have a golf tournament tomorrow for Cheryl’s Hope (will have a post on it next week) and on Sunday I plan on a major FALL YARD and HOUSE clean up and putting out all my fall/Halloween house décor!  I love this season and I will show you all my lovely house additions so you can get in the fall mood right along side me.  Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Fashion Night Out, {FNO}, is a world wide shopping event.  It started in NYC to promote purchases during the recession but has remained an event that comes back each year.  Tonite is {FNO} in NYC, and I can't wait to see all the pictures from the events happening in the city.

{Westfield} a store in the UK put together this great video showcasing fashion from the last 100 years to promote the night.  It’s a great video montage and just shows you how far we have come yet how all outfits are still relevant even in today

Enjoy the video!

Event Clothing...

Let's TIFF to it !!!

Blog follower Dana asked me the other day for some inspiration on what to wear to TIFF.  For those followers outside of Toronto, that is the Toronto International Film Festival.  Dana got tickets to the screening of the new Ryan Gosling movie, DRIVE, super duper lucky lady!  Plus the preview for the flick looks great, check that out below.  TIFF is a great combination of celebrity red carpet and indi hipsters.  The festival is fun and and fancy and yet totally down to earth, so I had to pick an outfit that is a perfect combination of both.

I asked her what her plans were, like just the screening or a screening and an after party?  She wasn't sure yet about the after party but I want pick something that could take her to a party if Mr. Gosling perhaps asks her to escort him!

The look I would pick is casual with the a great skinny denim and motorcycle jacket.  The classic black pump and earring dress it up just that much that it could be worn to a party.  Dana, I think you should try to find a nice light weight blouse that has a cute detail, but not sequined just subtle.  A nice cross body bag totally gives it that hipster/downtown feel, a clutch would just be too much.  Then add a funky ring to show some personal style or even a conversational piece cause you never know who you will meet!
Hope you have a great time Dana and I hope this outfit gives you some clothing inspiration for a fun night out in the city!  Oh!  Tell Ryan Gosling I say hello!  lol
