Wedding Shoe Styling...

Wedding Shoe Styling...

I am soooo honored with friends ask me to help style them for events.  I blessed they even care what I think.  So when my college girlfriend Kristy sent me a picture of this hi-low dress she purchased for an upcoming wedding and said "GO" I jumped to style it!

For you readers we are going to mix this 'styling' up.  First I am going to let her chose her top three choices out of the shoes I think will go with this dress.  And yes, I have a favorite I hope secretly she chooses..lol  Once she picks shoes I will move on and do the rest.  I am a shoe lover as most of you know, so I always, like 98% of the time pick my shoes first for an outfit.  Hell, sometimes I buy the shoes THEN find a dress..lol  Once I have the shoes I can style jewels and handbags around them.  They are the easier things to find etc so making them the last choice is simple.

With the dress being a muted grey/purple print on cream I wanted BRIGHT shoes; make it pop so to speak.  Also add a little contrast to the print.  All these shoes are currently available now in stores, some cheap, some reasonable some on the high end.  Shop from everywhere, never limit your options!

So!  Kristy, pick away!  Any of these tickle your fancy?!?!

Single Soled...

Single Soled...

I learned something while reading VOGUE a while back, shoes like the ones above are called 'single soled' I always just called them flat fronts..lol.... little did I know!  So in the essence of making us all smarter lets tell everyone we know!  Single Soles are back and in a big way!  Platforms are not going anywhere but the single sole is the current statement shoe.  A little harder to walk in (add the cushions to the front) they actually make your legs look way longer than platforms.  They are super feminine, and frankly we/you/me won't be walking around clunking like a Clydesdale in these like we do in our 3 inch platform heels!

I bought my first pair in like FOREVER for my birthday post {here} and I agree they are amazing.  Something about going back to a classic heel is always amazing.  Above are some pricey options but keep an eye out for ones you can afford.  And ladies, happy heels make happy ladies! :)

Metallic Cap Toes...

Pointy toed shoes are back and in a BIG WAY!  So pull yours out of the back of your closet and dust them off!
The new way of sprucing up any shoe is the metallic cap!  Mostly done in the pointy toe version they are available in every price range, every colour and best yet, flats to sky high heights.

Pull out any old dress you have, re-wear it, but go and add this trendy new addition to it.  Will for sure breathe new life into an old outfit.  If you are strapped for cash, there are TONS of cap toe DIY videos and blogs out there; I am sure you can find zillions on Pinterest.

Happy Cap-ing!

GRIPE...

Today's GRIPE is simple, it is these Kanye West Guiseppe Zanotti heels that cost $6,000!  My issue is not that they are $6g's or that they are designed by Kanye, my gripe is that they are just UGLY! lol
Here is the second part of my GRIPE.  I adore Kim Kardashian (that is a whole other post) however the love for 'her man' has lead to wearing these shoes too many times!  Kim has a great sense of style and I appreciate her supporting Kanye but girl, take off the UGLY shoes!!  He would/should love you without you hawking these dreadful shoes.

Ladies, SUPPORT your partners, but when they make UGH shoes, perhaps become the MUSE and convince them to make NEW shoes..lol  Ones that are attractive and that 'real' people really want to wear!

Happy GRIPE!!!!

Cap Toe...

Cap Toe...

Why not put your best foot forward this coming fashion season?  A trend that has been EVERYWHERE, as you can tell by all the pictures is the 'cap toe' and doesn't show any signs of slowing down!  You can dress it up, dress it down, buy expensive pairs, cheap pairs, DIY a pair with some tape and paint.

I am thrilled A, that the pointy shoe is back, means I can bring some shoes back into roation, but this cap toe is a perfect update to a classic pump!

As far as trends go, I think this is a great one to get behind, not to mention and easy one everyone can wear since you see it in flats to sky high heels.
Go get capped!

Just Because...

This is why a classic shoe just never goes out of style!
Miranda Kerr is wearing a classy pointed black pump and this casual outfit is stepped up tenfold.
Great style always looks effortless.
Add a shoe like this from {ALDO} into your wardrobe, cause you can never go wrong with it.

Finds...

Check out unique footwear designer {Kobi Levi}.  Graduated from Bezalel academy of art & design, Jerusalem 2001, he has presented his shoes Tel-Aviv, Jerusalem, Tokyo, Verona, St.Etienne, Berlin etc.  He says "In my artistic footwear design the shoe is my canvas. The trigger to create a new piece comes when an idea, a concept and/or an image comes to mind. The combination of the image and footwear creates a new hybrid and the design/concept comes to life. The piece is a wearable sculpture. It is "alive" with/out the foot/body. Most of the inspirations are out of the "shoe-world".

I think he is a total genius.  Here are just a few of his designs.  Check out his blog {here}.

Finds...

Thanks to the internet I have already watched the season finale reunion show the ‘The Real Housewives of New York’, part 1 and 2…lol.  While watching the episode and laughing at the cattiness of these middle aged women I could help but be distracted by the stunning aqua/teal/blue suede shoes housewife Kelly Bensimon was wearing.

I immediately took a guess and said Manolo Blahnik, then after investigating turns out I was right!  Now the colour she is wearing if from a different season, but this season’s teal version of shoe is already available for fall pre-order.  Can’t help but wonder if it is because of her, then I thought hmmm, the beige is on pre-order as well, so might not be.

I have always loved the city-chic bohemian style Kelly has.  As a former model no wonder she looks effortless no matter what she is wearing.  Plus now she has me thinking, teal shoes for fall, why not?!

Adore...

I had a shoe’gasm the other night in Aldo.  I had seen them on their website but needed to see and feel how they were in person.  I fell in lurve.  Everyone please meet, {Capecoral}.

However I currently have no where to wear them and this makes me sad.  Earlier this year I did make a promise to myself I would stop buying sky-scraper high heels, which I adoringly call ‘date shoes’; they are only easy to wear to the car, into the restaurant, back to the car and then home. Lol But I saw these and thought ‘maybe I can make an exception’ they are approx 7 inches in height, which makes me, 6'2 tall; but I was good, and I left without buying the shoes.  Talk about visa restraint!  I know the minute they go on sale they will be mine!!!

Something else to note, these Capecoral shoes are as close to the ‘Daffodil’ pumps by Christian Louboutin that I will ever get.  Ahhh, a girl can dream.
