Gripe...

Well I apologize for the delay in today’s GRIPE, it has just been one of those days! hahaha

A couple gripe’s ago I talked about a unitard from ASOS {here}, well this week I have a new one from ASOS again!  Well everyone, you ‘might’ be able to pull off a unitard but a  can you pull off a Zebra striped unitard?!  UGLY, TACKY, the perfect ingredients for a Wednesday GRIPE!

On another note, a follower, Donna, actually didn't mind the unitard well Donna this one is for you!
Is this one okay too? lol

Anytime you can add a fun accessory to an outfit it can highlight your sense of humor.  Here are two items I found this week that I think would add some pizzazz to any outfit.

Inspiration...

Well, there is nothing like a long weekend and a cold front to make you want a vacation more!  I am now in that boat.  Sadly, nothing on the horizon planned for me to go to warmer climates, but I will make a sandy beach in my mind and go there when I need too!

I love that people keep asking me for wardrobe inspiration; it has been great to put styles and outfits together and share the things that I love!

One of my blog viewers is a friend I met when I was 16 in the Caribbean; Janine lives in South Africa and I appreciate the blog support she sends all the way up to me in Canada.

At the end of September she will be heading to Phuket, Thailand with her boyfriend and a few other friends and she so kindly asked me to help give her some things to help her with packing.  As some of you may know, back in 2006 I was unlucky enough to have all my luggage lost by an airplane, yes I lost EVERYTHING I packed.  So since then on all my travels I try to pack as little as possible, choosing a few pieces that can be worn in a variety of different ways.

So when I was picking out a few items of Janine I thought the same way.  Shorts are so versatile, they can be dressed up for a night or paired down with a bikini for the beach, so I suggest she takes 1 white, 1 black and 1 denim pair.  A tunic with some embellishment are great for day use at the beach, for sightseeing paired with a short, and then at night they can be dressed up with just adding some accessories.  A bag that is big enough to carry souvenirs yet small enough to still look dainty for night dinners along the beach is the type of bag you should bring, its all about versatility.  A gladiator with some decorative feature again can again take you from day to night.  Make sure to pack a variety of necklaces, earrings they can make the same top/short look completely different everyday of the vacation.

Janine, I hope this gives you some ideas of what to bring with you.  But what I would really suggest is a large duffel bag with wheels so that I can squeeze into it and join you!  Have fun!!!

Summer Fun...

I have decided to make this the last ‘Summer Fun’ post until next year.  Now I will have ‘Fall Fun’ for all things I love in the fall!  I hope to get up to lots of fun things this fall and I cannot wait to share with you everything that is on my horizon, and especially show you what I wore.

This weekend I am heading up to the family cottage.  I will be golfing, walking the coastline, and if I am lucky enough for it not to rain (it has every time I have gone up this year) get my tan for the last time this year.  The car is packed and I am raring to go!

Everyone enjoy this long weekend; soak up all of what is left of summer you totally deserve it!  Look at this photo, doesn’t it just make you thrilled of all the wonderful things to come?!!  It does for me!
Happy LONG WEEKEND!

Adore...

I have quite the admiration for Ms. Kate Winslet.  Here she is at the Venice Film Festival to premiere her new movie Carnage.  The little black dress paired with a nude blazer and the two-toned heels is a perfect way to do something so little yet make a large impact.  It also shows classic pieces in your wardrobe never go out of style; these pieces could be worn so many different ways too.

Just take a minute and admire simple clothes at their finest.

Finds...

I have ALWAYS wanted to sport a cape during the crisp fall nights.  This one from {ASOS} looks perfect;   Neutral grey with a little added fun with the plaid shoulders.  If it was not for the price tag, $180 for the {left},
and $145 for the {right} (on a shopping budget this month) I would be ordering this ASAP.
Who else wants a cape for this fall?

Inspiration...

Happy September 1st everyone!  Hope where ever you are in the world I hope the weather is better than here.  It’s grey, humid and not exactly what the 1st of a month should be.
Guess Mother Nature is sad summer is almost finished.

In honor of September 1st today’s post is all about going back to school!

Back to School

My sister is a school teacher and so is one of her best friends Kate, so when Kate asked me for a back to school outfit I was more then happy to help her!

For me a teacher who looks approachable and not to stuffy always wins over the students, well at least in my eyes.

Before I started I asked Kate what they can and cannot wear; she said anything goes, but of course it had to look professional.  So this is what I put together for a FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL look.

Black skinny jeans, a nice flowy knit top with some very trendy stripes and paired with an army green outerwear vest for the main pieces.  Next some bracelets instead of large earrings I think is more WORK friendly for a teacher, and of course a watch to know when the first day is almost over.  Great black leather flat riding boot for that first day back on your feet.  Then of course what teacher is not complete with out a great cross body bag to haul all tests and quizzes home in!  And to add some punch to the everyday, a bright pink laptop sleeve to add some fun and pep to her step.  A great neutral but popular shade with a dark cranberry nails; since once school starts chipped nails will ensue! hahaha

Kate I hope this look gives you some inspiration for heading back to your classroom, have a great year with your students!  And for everyone else, these are some great pieces to add into your closet for the fall too!
