30 to THIRTY...

Today marks day 4.. however on Saturday night (day 6) my friends and family threw me a SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY!!  I did not see it coming a MILE away!  I was overwhelmed with the love in the room from those that are my dearest.  My sister worked tirelessly to make the event perfect, and boy was it!  My friends had known about this party for well over a month and I was shocked not one of them ever made a slip up!  Thank you to all who came out and to those that sent their regrets, it was a fabulous night and I LOVE YOU ALL!

Above is my birthday cake that my sister {Miss Cupcake} made!!  Confetti cake is my favorite and let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS!

Colourful Wedding... 

Oh Wedding season you are in full swing!!

My sister has a wedding in a few weeks and she sent me the picture of the dress she has bought and asked me to help find some accessories.  It's from {American Eagle} and because it is a neutral she wanted to add some punches of colour!  I immediately knew what clutch would be a great jumping off point; this colourful splash clutch from {ALDO} was a great starting point.  Then found the necklace from {Forever21} that pulled out almost all the colours from the handbag.  Plus she wanted a statement necklace and I think this one is terrific.  Then this great blue peep toe from {ALDO}  to round out this colour filled look.  The dress has the model wearing a brown belt I would opt for no belt when doing this much colour.  Sometimes you can for surely over do it! 

Don't be afraid of colour for a wedding.  They are celebrations, a time for joy and fun, and when does hot pink, yellow, blue and gold never not made someone happy!

Adore...

This week my little sister moved into her first 'big girl' home.  I am so happy and couldn't be more thrilled for her and her man for buying their first condo.  It is a loft style place and being that it is small she has zero closet space!  When I saw if for the first time I said "where do the shoes go?!"  With the thoughts of her mini closet reno on it is way, when {ApartmentTherapy} showcased this closet the other day on their site and I swooned with excitement.  I think I will be adding this closet to the file of  'dream closets' I have started.  Not to mention, if all those Orange boxes are {Hermes} boxes I want those, and also it appears to have cashmere sweaters in every colour, I will take those too!

Summer Fun...

Well I didn't come back as a cowgirl but I did survive!  lol

Saturday we loaded up two cars and headed to Sarnia for Bayfest.  All of us girls, mostly country lovers, were in for quite the weekend.  Now I will say no matter what the type of music, an outdoor festival is always splendid!

Now among all the fashion DO’s and DON’T’s and trust me when I say there was way more DONT’S!  hahaha  My girls were especially dressed for the occasion.

I wore pretty much what I predicted {here} with a few adjustments.  My denim cropped jacket did fit, its too big and needs to altered, so I chose a cardigan for the night breeze.  And sadly no feather earring, just wore the fancy gold and coral beaded ones, stacked bracelets and my great leather gladiators from Athens.

I got very much into the spirit as the night went on.  Even dancing and laughing with some local wanna-be cowboys!

This weekend was one for the record book thats for sure.  I had a ton of fun and many many laughs.  Also something I am taking away with me, is a mental note; next time I go to a country festival with LOTS of women in short short shorts make sure I do some squats and lunges to keep up! :)
