Event Clothing...

This 'event clothing' post is a little differnet, this one is all about the amazing event I am hosting this coming Saturday; CONSIGN YOUR CURVES!!!

As you frequent readers know I have attended {BIG DEAL Toronto} over the past two Summers and have been able to make some money off the resale of my closet.  Thing is, I am not from Toronto but Guelph, so thought it was time that I brought this style of event to my neck of the woods.  Guelph as a small city is under-serviced in plus size consignment and this is a perfect way for myself and other tri-cities fashionistas to open up their cloests to other ladies!

I was thrilled when fashion friends, {Karyn}, {Erica}, {Jessica}, {Sheena} and {Melissa} got on board and wanted to sell their clothes too!  I was so flattered to have these ladies support me; Truly humbled.

If you are reading this and your are outside of Canada, or heck even outside of Ontario I am sorry you cannot attend... but! If you are around these parts, have access to public transit you must come out!!!  If not only to shop and meet these iconic plus size ladies in person!

I woke up this AM to see my local paper had done an article on me and the event, click {here} to read it!

I will wait with baited breathe to actually see how this event goes on Saturday, but by the current buzz it will be one not to miss!!!! And, of course a post next week to show and tell you how it went!

For those that read the newspaper article and came to check out my blog, thank you for stopping by!!
I hope that you come back again to see what I have to say!

Find the event {here} on Facebook!!!

** rack rentals are closed **

Spotlight...

As you readers know I have moved into my very own house.  And with that came a MAJOR closet purge, still have to much but what can a girl do!  I have purged quite a few bags as you can see!

**ironing board not included..lol

And with that said it is that time of year again for {BigDealToronto} where myself and all the other fabulously curvy bloggers from Toronto and area will be selling our clothes, accessories, shoes, handbags.  Pretty much a free-for-all to raid our closets!  And well we are all biased, but we think we have the best curvy closets going..lol

If you are a size 12+ or even not and want some great bags etc come out to {BigDealToronto} on Sunday July 28th from 2-6pm! This is our {site} follow us on Twitter {here} for updates and Facebook {here}.  We are a 'BIG DEAL' so we are everywhere!  lol

{This} was the event last year, and what I wore {here} to the event last year.

This year will be bigger and better and with more AC than last year!  I cannot wait to meet some of you readers as well as always seeing my fellow blogger ladies!!!  Come shop our closets and hopefully find something great for yours!

This is literally what my blog is about, FRIENDS IN MY CLOSET!!!!

30 to THIRTY...

Day #8... just over a week away.. woot woot.. I can feel the excitement!  lol

Since starting this blog almost 2 years ago, wow, time flies, I have been lucky to meet some amazing ladies within the Toronto Plus Size blogger community.  I see these ladies every time there is an event, we tweet often and I try to keep up with all their amazing blogs!

This photo was from the last event we all attended for {AdditionElle} flagship store opening.  This picture may only have 8 of us in it, but can't forget those extra ladies behind the camera too who I adore just as much!  As well as the other bloggers who attended the event that I had missed by the time I got there.

These are 8 bloggers for Day #8!

(L to R) - Curvy Canadian, Fat in the City, GabiFresh, Rawrmanifesto, Franceta Johnson, Big Hips Red Lips, Killer Kurves, and Me :)... missing in action cause they were so sweet to take the pictures!
Round Raglan Road and Geek with Style

and one more!

Field Trip...

Yesterday I was lucky enough to be invited by {BrillCommunications} to a Spring clothing preview of not only {AdditionElle}'s line but of their new addition the EDIT line by {Jeanne Beker}.  Flattered and honored do not describe the joy I had to attend this event.

Not only was it my first clothing preview (blogger baby steps to get to it) but I was going to be able to be up close and personal with the Canadian fashion icon herself Ms. Beker and head of marketing for {AdditionElle} Roslyn Griner; I was quite lucky to be in this room!  We talked progression of fashion, the creativity found in fashion and just getting dressed in the morning, the love of clothes no matter the size and most of all, the beauty of women regardless of their size.

It was a day I will not soon forget nor do I want too!  I will float on this fashion cloud 9 for a little while, or at least until I break a 5inch heel and come down!..lol

We all sat candidly as Jeanne told us her story and how EDIT came to be!  Incredible stories and antidotes.  In a nut shell, follow your dreams! Even if they are to be a mime!

Just a couple samples of her clothes that will be hitting the stores late Spring.

The next few shot are all of the {AdditionElle} Spring clothes; graphics, yellow, crisp whites!  The snow hasn't even fallen and already excited fro Spring!

That mint green, die.

PICTURE TIME!!!!

Myself and the other bloggers with Jeanne!
And shout out to Roslyn who is beside me; we share great fashion taste, both of us had tuxedo blazers on!  Also, Roslyn, I had a fantastic time chatting with you the entire event, you are a breathe of fresh air into the company and it is noticed by not only myself but every other curvy woman out there.  Keep up the great work, it is awesome knowing we have someone like you in our corner.

WIW...

I talked about the blogger event I attended {here} and all the ladies looked fantastic!  Since the event was on a lovely Sunday afternoon, I broke out a brand new sundress topped with lots of gold jewels I thought was the way to go!  Also a pop of mint to keep it FRESH and oh so summery.

Here is what I wore.

Wearing Old Navy dress | Payless shoes | Top Shop ring | Lauren Elan bracelet |
unknown watch | Danier Leather handbag | Forever21 necklace

Big thanks to Karen from {KillerKurves} for taking these pictures for me!  What us bloggers do for each other..lol

Summer Fun...

Among some of the fun things I did this weekend was head into the city for a blogger closet event!  Some of the great CURVY Bloggers from the city opened their closets and did a clothing sale.  I had nothing to sell sadly because when {Karen} announced the event I had just donated a bunch of clothes to good will.
boo urns.  But for those ladies that did I know a bunch of curvy girls that say THANK YOU!  I didn't see anyone leave without a bag!  Even I scored a vintage dress that I might wear to an upcoming concert, which of course I will showcase on here!

Thanks to {Karen} for putting on the event, it went soooo well.  Also shout out to all my ladies!  Always nice to catch up with some bloggers, talk shop, fashion, boys and all the stuff that makes girl chat all that much more fun!

Hope you had a good weekend as well with WHATEVER you got up too!

Just some of the cool bloggers and peeps as we hung outside... the temp was cooler! lol
Thanks to Courtney (in green) for letting me bogart this pic!

Fall Fun...

Last Thursday I was able to attend an event hosted by {Eat.Live.Shop} in Toronto.  Renee from the blog had this great idea to get people together to make bracelets! {Bicyclette} was this fantastic boutique on Queen West where the event took place.  I brought along with my friend Kristy for a fun night out.  Here are a few pictures from the night and of course the fantastic bracelets we made.  Have to love a girls night out in the city, especially when it includes jewelry!
This is the beautiful store front of the boutique {Bicyclette}

Here is a shot of the event.  The design element I liked the most were the banners acorss the top of the room.  Renne took paint chips and folded them over and strung them up.
What a great inexpensive decor idea!

Here were all the supplies that were provided for us for the bracelets.

My girlfriend Kristy hard at work on her bracelet.

Here is a great shot that Amanda from {theBurgundygirls} took of the bracelet she was working on.

And this is me sporting my very own made bracelet!  I love how it works perfectly with the other wrist jewelery I wear on a daily basis.

Thanks again to Renee from {Eat.Live.Shop} for my first ever blogger event and a fantastic girls night out!

OH!  Kristy and I took pictures of what I wore, but they didn't turn out the best and we joked they could make GRIPE Wednesday, so I didn't post them!  Sorry!
